All the little babies/they're all going to die

Brief--going to Houston with Kristen this afternoon. A few photos taken from Sherman--there are more from this roll that turned out well and I will post later.

FREEDOM! BONDAGE!

Zeni is (was) a metaphorical fish, Betta variety, who represented a lot to Kristen and me. To our surprise, the weight of being some form of message-bearing fish ultimately was too much on Zeni, and he passed away. Not content to have such an important symbol floating around in the public water system of Sherman, we decided to give him a proper burial. FREEDOM! BONDAGE!

I set a fire burning/And I railed on through the night

Photos taken in Bells, TX. Black and white is CN (Dear CN: Die.), but only because I didn't know better. A few are from the apartment, but the majority are from my room as a kid: the typewriter (a Remington portable bought after a fetishistic statement from a Woody Allen movie), the screwdriver and antidepressants, and the rifle. The toilet is my place of work. Somehow, the combination of psychiatric medication, weapons, and typewriters struck my brain as complimentary colors.

Every blog should begin with a picture of a cat; this one will start with a picture of two.

The idea came from someone I (we) work with. (Aside--the name is a sort of homage to this coworker. I screamed it at him one night in genuine confusion.) Why not have a whole space just dedicated to the photos? And especially since it had gotten confusing with Kristen taking so many of the photos that I was putting on my Facebook.

So this is a little space for photos and random shit that we decide to foist upon a readership of most probably just us. But, for those inclined to not just click through the photos on Facebook, it is nice to have larger, detailed versions on the web with a little more explanation as to what exactly they are.

The above (which will probably appear again in a later post) is a photo Kristen took in Tom Bean of her cats.  And so it begins--cats, cats, cats.
